Every author knows a desire to see their work in print.
My first novel, 'An Artist's Muse', has been a project close to my heart for nine years. An idea hatched when I was celebrating my last summer as a high school student, thinking about all the novels I had enjoyed and what it might be like to start one of my own, before enrolling at University. A first draft begun in my first year, written alongside essays and a dissertation, accompanied by the wealth of reading that a truly inspiring English degree can provide. It was finally finished once I had already graduated and also spent 3 years working in Teaching.
Now it is a revised draft, sent to publishers, even edited by them, but still unpublished. In my eagerness to see this near-decade of effort finally achieve fruition, I am hoping to bring my work to a wider audience, starting with this website. I hope it will allow potential readers (and publishers) a glimpse of my ideas, an insight into the work I love to write.
The blog: well, that could be something entirely different. I want to share my thoughts, excerpts of my writing (even the unfinished fragments), engage in discussion about writing and keep a log of significant events (hoping that these will follow!).
Most of all, I would love to meet a potential readership; people who are interested in what I do and share my enthusiasm for it.
Looking to the future,
D.E.W
