Now that my site is published, it's great to be able to showcase pieces of writing that I have completed - should they be of interest to publishers, or submitted to future competitions. If you have any queries about the writing featured here, please don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

My most recent writing projects, which aren't currently featured on this website, are at very different stages of completion.

I have begun to write the first draft of a novel set in the Georgian period. The story features a female protagonist, who is presented from the very beginning as highly flawed. In fact, it becomes clear that all but a very small minority of the other people around her actually despise her! But there is something compelling about her character that (I hope!) will make readers want to discover as much as they can about her. The title character came to me as a fully formed person several years ago, as I was driving through the countryside one day - I could see her, riding her horse across the fields! She never left my imagination since that day, and I couldn't resist writing her.

My other project is in much earlier stages. I have had the desire for some time to write a dystopian novel - being greatly influenced by Margaret Atwood's novel, 'The Handmaid's Tale', and George Orwell's '1984', amongst others. At the moment, this book only consists of hand-written jottings in a notebook, but I hope it will become more!

I hope to be able to update you on my efforts soon.
